A popular murder mystery by Delia Owens, Where The Crawdads Sing, is being adapted for an upcoming motion picture by actress/producer Reese Witherspoon. Set in a quiet coastal town in North Carolina town during the late 1960s, Owens' novel tells the coming-of-age story of Kya, known locally as the “marsh girl” because she spends most of her time immersed in nature. Her life changes abruptly when she is suspected of murder and thrust into the center of an investigation.
The adaptation is being written by Lucy Alibar; Daisy Edgar-Jones has been cast as Kya.
