The first full moon to occur after the spring equinox appears on the Christian calendar as the Paschal Full Moon, a title derived from Pascha, an Aramaic transliteration of the Hebrew "Pesach," meaning Passover. Usually occurring in March and on the day of the astronomical full moon, a Paschal Full Moon is designated by ecclesiastical authorities as the 14th day of the lunar month beginning after the spring equinox. The date of Easter is set for the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon.
