Father's Day in Belgium, known as "Vaderdag" in Dutch and "Fête des Pères" in French, is observed annually on the second Sunday in June except in Antwerp, where it is celebrated March 19 in honor of Joseph of Nazareth, father of Jesus.
This day honors the role of fathers and forefathers, but is not a public holiday. It is usually observed with small personal gifts, meals, Belgian chocolates and Belgian beer.
