Earth Hour

Organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature, Earth Hour is an annual observance usually on the last Saturday in March (or the penultimate Saturday of March when the last Saturday coincides with Holy Saturday) when people from all over the world switch off non-essential electricity consumption for 60 minutes. One of the most important environmental conservation events of the year, the symbolic gesture aims to help individuals and corporations become aware of their carbon footprint and the importance of conservation to preserving our planet.
