Draconids Meteor Shower

Sometimes called the Giacobinids, the Draconids Meteor Shower is named after the constellation Draco where the meteors seem to emerge. The source of the shower is actually fragments of a periodic comet known to astronomers as 21P/Giacobini-Zinner.

The Draconids is a minor meteor shower occurring in October each year and producing only about 10 meteors per hour.
