Sangria Day

Sangria is a wine and fresh fruit combination developed in Spain and Portugal. Usually iced and served as a punch, it consists of red wine, fruit slices or bits. A similar wine cocktail called hippocras was served among the early Greek and Romans, but today’s drink was popularized in the Spain pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair in Queens, New York.
