Wagyu Day

Known for its marbling, tenderness and buttery flavor, Wagyu beef is a Japanese breed distinguished by its genetics, breeding methods, and feed. Japanese breeders know the breeding history of all their Wagyu cattle.

Derived from the Japanese word for beef, ‘wagyu’ refers to four breeds of Japanese cattle – Black (Tajima), Brown (red Wagyu), Polled, and Shorthorn.

First organized by the American Wagyu Association in 2019 Wagyu Day on June 21st has grown into a popular worldwide celebration of the craftsmanship involved in producing this premium beef.
