New England Clam Chowder Day

This food holiday celebrates a milk- or cream-based chowder, commonly made with potatoes, onion, and clams; usually accompanied with oyster crackers. Also known as “Boston-style,” New England Clam Chowder clam chowder is known for its creamy texture. It was probably introduced to Massachusetts and Maine by French and Nova Scotian settlers.
