This food holiday in the midst of winter celebrates a rich and creamy comfort food made from fresh fettuccine noodles, butter, cream, and parmesan cheese. Italian restaurateur Alfredo di Lelio created this dish in 1908 to encourage his wife to eat after she had given birth to their first son.
