“We just have to get rid of the idea that the world is in equilibrium or should be in equilibrium during our lifetime or during the existence of the solar system. There is no human right to constantly pleasant, beneficial living conditions. Life does not arise in equilibrium and does not exist in such a state. It is in non-equilibrium.
“Life is created by a multitude of dynamic, constantly built up and broken down, constantly transformed dissipative structures. We just have to get used to it. We have to live with the uncertainties, whether we like it or not.
