World Series, Game Six

  • Globe Life Field 734 Stadium Drive Arlington, TX, 76011 United States (map)

The annual championship series of Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada, the World Series concludes a postseason that includes playoffs between divisional champions.

In the 2022 World Series, the Houston Astros prevailed over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Often referred to as the "Fall Classic", the World Series has been played every year since 1903 except in 1904, when the National League champion New York Giants declined to play the American League champion, the Boston Americans. It was also canceled in 1994 due to a strike.

The World Series is a best-of-seven series, with the championship going to the first team to win four games. In the history of the game, teams with a 3–2 lead going into the 6th game have won about two-thirds of the time while teams down 2–3 have won about one-third of the time.

The home field advantage (games 1,2,6,7) is determined by which league wins the All-Star game in July, with Game One played on the home field of that league’s champion. Games 3,4,5 are consequently played on the home field of the opposing league’s champion.
