Total Lunar Eclipse

A total lunar eclipse will occur on September 7, 2025. The eclipse will be visible from everywhere on the night side of the Earth, if the sky is clear. From some places the entire eclipse will be visible, while in other areas the Moon will rise or set during the eclipse..

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth's dark shadow, or umbra. During a lunar eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color.
