The annual championship game of the National Football League has become one of America's most popular events, a veritable holiday when nearly the entire nation pauses to pay attention to its fanfare, spectacle and outcome.
Super Bowl LVIII
The 58th Super Bowl will be played February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, deciding the champion for the NFL's 104th season. In 2023, the National Football Conference champion Philadelphia Eagles contended with the American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs for the title.
Super Bowl Monday?
Nearly half of American sports fans would give up one of their other work holidays in order to have a day off after Super Bowl Sunday, according to a 2019 survey commissioned by the daily fantasy sports company DraftKings. The survey found that more than 40% would rather work Presidents Day, Martin Luther King's birthday or Columbus Day than the Monday after the NFL championship game. About one in 10 would even prefer to work Christmas or Thanksgiving, and still more would give up the Fourth of July, New Year's Day or Memorial Day.
