Established in 2009 to commemorate the anniversary of adoption of the flag of Azerbaijan in 1918, the Day of the State Flag of Azerbaijan (Azərbaycan Respublikasının Dövlət Bayrağı Günü) is a state holiday celebrated annually on November 9.

The Azerbaijan flag is a horizontal tricolor featuring three equally sized stripes of blue, red, and green, with a white crescent and an eight-pointed star in the center.
