Saint Dwynwen's Day

Much like Valentine’s Day, Saint Dwynwen's Day is a celebration of love and friendship in Wales. It is named after a 5th century saint who lived on Llanddwyn Island, where the ruins of his church still stand. During medieval times, Saint Dwynwen's church and its magic well was the destination of Christian pilgrimages.
