Quebec adopted the first provincial flag in Canada in 1948. Known as the Fleurdelisé, it has a white cross on a blue background, with four white fleurs-de-lis. Quebec Flag Day is observed on January 21 each year, commemorating its adoption and first raising on that day at the Parliament Building of the National Assembly in Quebec City.
