On June 25, Mozambique celebrates its independence from Portugal, achieved in 1975 after a 10-year struggle. Events on this national day include an address by the Mozambican President, laying of wreaths at Heroes Square in honour of Mozambique’s fallen heroes, particularly those who died fighting for the liberation of the country.
