Also known as Shab e Miraj, this Islamic holiday celebrates the Prophet Mohammed's miraculous journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, where he then ascended to heaven. According to the Quran, Mohammed spoke to Allah and was told that Muslims must recite a ritual prayer called Salah (or Salat) five times a day, at specific times.
