Independence Day of Ghana

Independence Day is observed on 6 March each year in the nation of Ghana, marking its declaration of independence from the United Kingdom by Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah in 1957. Independence Day is a statutory national holiday in Ghana, celebrated with parades, bonfires and speeches. Ghana was the first sub-Saharan country to gain its independence.
