In Poland and many Slavic communities, Dyngus Day is observed on Easter Monday.
Also known as "Wet Monday", this is a day for pranks involving water in the tradition of Śmingus-Dyngus [SHMEE-goos DING-goos] - or lany poniedziałek - where young unmarried girls are the targets of intrigued boys who douse their ecstatic victims with buckets of water. This courting ritual works both ways, with boys getting doused as well.
