Observed on August 25 in the USA, Whiskey Sour Day celebrates a classic cocktail made by mixing whiskey, lemon juice, sugar and egg white with a choice of bitters. Popular among sailors in the British Navy on long sea journeys where water was not dependable, the drink became known in the Americas as Whiskey Sour in the 1860s.
