This food holiday is observed annually on the first Tuesday in October.
The first Taco Day in the USA was organized by Roberto L. Gomez in San Antonio, Texas, during the 1960s to promote Mexican cuisine and culture.
The celebration originally coincided with the week leading up to Cinco de Mayo in early May, but was moved to the first Tuesday in October to align with fast food franchise Taco Bell’s popular Taco Tuesday promotion.
Celebrate Taco Day by dining out at an authentic Mexican restaurant where traditional tacos made with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes.
