This food holiday celebrates an iconic campfire treat in the U.S. sponsored by the National Confectioners Association. Consisting of a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate, this gooey dessert was recorded in a Girl Scout Handbook of 1927, but its origin is probably much earlier.
