This April 30 food holiday in the USA celebrates a recognizes a delicious and nutritious cookie that’s been coming out of American ovens for at least a century. Fannie Farmer penned the first known oatmeal raisin cookie recipe in 1896, but something similar was baking earlier in Scotland where oats were a staple crop and used in many recipes. Loaded with minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium, as well as lots of fiber, oatmeal cookies are one of the healthiest cookies.
