Caviar Day

This July 18 food holiday recognizes the seafood delicacy derived from the roe (eggs) of sturgeon, salmon or other fish and often served on toast. While beluga sturgeon from the Caspian Sea are reputed to have the best roe, supplies are limited due to declining sturgeon populations and bans on Russian exports following the invasion of Ukraine. Help the sturgeon and democracy by choosing caviar made from the roe of Alaskan salmon.

Caviar has a long and rich history. It has enjoyed by aristocrats and royalty in Russia and Iran for centuries.

Caviar has long been a symbol of wealth and luxury worldwide. It is said by some that eating a spoonful of caviar at the beginning of a new year can bring you a year filled with joy and success.
