Hosted by the town of Morton, Illinois, where 85% of the world's pumpkin is canned each year, this festival celebrates the beginning of the canning season with pumpkin foods, carnival rides, parades, live entertainment, a 10K race, and over 30 events, venues and activities.
First organized in 1967, the annual event now includes over 30 special events and venues hosted and organized by over 1,500 volunteers, welcoming an estimated 75,000 visitors.
The Morton Pumpkin Festival is a four-day event held annually in mid-September.
