Anguilla Day

This public holiday is observed 30 May each year in the island nation of Anguilla, a British Dependent Territory, commemorating the island's determination of independence from a union with Saint Kitts and Nevis forced on it by the British government in 1967.

Events usually include a “Round the Island” sailboat race, a colorful parade, a public celebration hosted by the Chief Minister, concerts and barbecues.
